National School Social Worker Week

Big picture
The theme for National School Social Work Week 2023 is “We Rise.” School Social Workers rise up - supporting their students, families, and school communities. School Social Workers rise to share hope. They rise to listen and understand. They rise to challenge inequities. They rise to support all students.

Mrs. Mari Robinson does all of that and MORE! Thank you for ALL that you do for our students and families, Mrs. Robinson! We love and appreciate you!

No School

There is no school for students on Friday, March 10th. This is a Teacher Workday.

Exciting Opportunities - Carolina Ballet and Secret Agent 23 Skidoo

Our students have been given the opportunity to see The Carolina Ballet perform on March 13, 2023, free of charge. This opportunity was brought to us by Atlantic Dance Theatre, a non-profit in Eastern NC with the mission of bringing professional dance performance and other opportunities to underserved audiences. A permission form went home with your child on Tuesday, February 28th.

The Pamlico County Arts Council is sponsoring Secret Agent 23 Skidoo, a Grammy winning hip hop artist who has created a program that teaches a rhyme writing workshop. Many of our own students will have the opportunity to engage in this process and participate in a master class with this family funk phenomenon. Our total school population will be afforded the opportunity to see Secret Agent 23 Skidoo perform live, on the afternoon of March 29th. We are excited for our students to experience this performance by an internationally touring, Grammy winning artist. A permission form will be coming home this Tuesday, March 7th.

Please return both permission forms for your child to attend!

February Cane Catalyst

This month’s Cane Catalyst Award goes to Mr. Lewis! Mr. Lewis has transitioned from being our Success Coordinator to our 6th grade Social Studies teacher seamlessly. Mr. Lewis is a team player and shows up where he is needed with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn. He is creating a classroom culture that is safe, inviting and inclusive for all of our students. PCMS is very fortunate to have an amazing educator and coach on our staff.

💡 Reminders

1. Early Check-outs

Students will not be allowed to check out early after 2:50 PM. If you need to check your child out, please do so prior to this time. Keep in mind that, when you check your child out early, he/she is missing very valuable instructional time. Every minute counts!
