Please Stretch with Us

With only hours left for the Nevermore: METRO Immersive Arts Festival Kickstarter, I'm outside painting umbrellas in the dark. Help us reach our $3,500 stretch goal - we are so close!

In the Process of Painting 50 Umbrellas with 150 Poems

We will be accepting submissions from August 1st - September 30th. Email your submission to Please include "Nevermore" in your subject line. All submission will receive a response by October 8th in which you will be informed if your poem will be an umbrella, water bottle, or pinata prize.

For more information, please visit The Living Poetry Project

Poems may have been previously published, but please let us know who to credit.

Shorter poems preferred for umbrella and water-bottle publication.

Longer poems will work for pinata poetry.

It's LA's first immersive arts festival that explores the East San Fernando Valley along METRO’s Orange Line just in time for Halloween!

* Come wearing your favorite costume, check-in, get a METRO Day Pass at the community festival and depart on the METRO Orange Line for an adventure through 8 performance stops near METRO stations from Woodley Park through the Eclectic Company Theatre @ Laurel Canyon.

* Discover a world haunted by the escaped works of Edgar Allan Poe, reimagined as local stories. Each stop features a distinct story and new artist or artistic ensemble, spotlighting diverse art forms, from poetry to weaving to Virtual Reality. It's up to you to end the haunting and release Poe’s spirit in this choose-your-own-adventure theatrical scavenger hunt.

* Weave your journey through the ongoing everyday life of the community and bus riders: you'll discover the hidden treasures of the East San Fernando Valley, dine with local street vendors, and explore the visceral power of poetry and immersive performance as never before.
