The Raider Professional
What's Going On In Raider Nation Vol. 1 Issue 30
The Raider Mentality!
A raider is a person who attacks the enemy in the enemy's territory. Raiders are known for using creative strategies at sea to attack an opponent, such as raiding their supplies rather than engaging in combat themselves. Some of these tactics are known as Naval strategies today.
This is the same mentality we have to have when educating our students and it's the same mentality we must teach them to go out and be successful.
You have to be willing to fight, even if it means going into the enemy's backyard. That takes courage and might.
As professional educators, we must go the extra mile to engage, and teach our students. It's tough, but with a raider's mentality, we are tougher.
We aren't just going through the motions, we have a detail strategic plan. As professionals, we understand the importance of building relationships, taking ownership of outcomes, and making adjustments based on data.
At the end of the day, we have to ask ourselves, "Are we saving the children?"
The business we are in is so much bigger than us.
It's time to re-evaluate our purpose and move with the Raider Mentality!
Please share what we are focusing on with your students and parents.
1. Practicing Explicit Direct Instruction (E.D.I) strategies for student engagement.
2. Taking a closer look at individual students and employing interventions with the help of parents.
3. Reducing student tardies and holding students accountable for being to class on time.
4. Wearing ID's (Our ID machine had ID issues at the start of the school year, but we will have more focus on ID's this week)
5. Interpreting student data and making decisions for student improvement.
Reflecting and Refocusing is key to being the best professional educators for the success of our young Raiders!
We are W.J. Keenan High School, Home of
