Hang Out Night
Mill Creek's first hang out night of the year is this Friday beginning immediately after school, and goes until 6:00pm. Tickets are on sale for $5, and can be purchased during lunch. There are only 250 tickets available, so once they're sold out, that's it. Dinner is provided, there's a bounce house, a DJ, and plenty of fun! I'll see you there!
Conferences
Thank you to all the parents who spent time coming to conferences last week. Your students worked hard to prepare the work for you, and I am looking forward to helping them grow throughout this year.

What are we learning?
In science, students are finishing up learning about the different body systems, and how viruses attack our bodies. This week, students are gathering materials and will begin constructing a device that could protect from the spread of Ebola. In math, students have been learning many different ways to find a product, and we're building on that knowledge by converting customary and metric measurement. In ELA, students are drawing conclusions about books, characters and theme, and are working to support their thoughts with evidence from the text. Our field trip to BSSE is quickly approaching (Nov. 20th) and we are prepping this week by learning about Ellis Island, creating passports, and completing planning paperwork.
We're trying something new with a class Twitter account. At the end of the day, students will post a summary of an important takeaway from the day's activities. Follow us @jaclynmorehead1
