A Message From the Board of Directors

Happy Celebration of the Lakes Month! It has been a pleasure to work with so many different people and organizations throughout our community to put together this exciting event! Celebration of the Lakes has been a long-standing tradition in our community but one that’s success has often been hindered by weather. This year we are proud to say that rain, shine, ice, or wind – the show will go on! We’ve built an itinerary that we’re sure you’ll love. There are many indoor events, outdoor events, events for kids, events for adults, events for EVERYONE! The Chamber would like to thank the following organizations for their collaboration in planning this exciting weekend: Wild River Snowmobile Club, Kids Pro Ice, Chisago Lakes Lions, Chisago Lakes Rotary, Trinity Lutheran Church, Chisago City Parks, The Uncommon Loon, & CopyPro. We operate on the motto, “Together we Rise” and that’s no more evident than with this wonderful committee.

Right on the heels of Celebration of the Lakes is our annual Home and Business Expo. This event is designed to give businesses the opportunity to showcase who they are and what they do. A family-friendly weekend filled with presentations, giveaways, entertainment, and resources – Don’t miss it! If you’re interested in having a booth and/ or presenting, let the Chamber know ASAP. This event is only 4 weeks away so don’t delay in securing your spot.

Mid-January we held our annual Chamber Board Retreat. This was a half day meeting that allowed your Board of Directors to discuss highlights from 2019 and to determine areas of focus for 2020. We are proud of all the progression and accomplishments that came from 2019 and are eager to see where those will lead us in 2020. We’ve integrated a new data management system, we launched the Strategic Plan, we created value-add membership packages and much more. While change is exciting, we also realize that part of growth is allowing everyone to settle into the changes. In 2020 we plan to develop some new initiatives but also celebrate the long-lasting events and projects that have made our chamber so great for so many years.

Over the next few weeks we’ll have lots of opportunities to see one another and to highlight our wonderful community. I look forward to seeing you all out and about during Celebration of the Lakes and the Home & Business Expo!
