Quick Updates
Scholastic Book Fair: The book fair will occur on 2/26 through 3/1 at SCS. While our students will have the opportunity to attend at some point during the school day, we invite any interested family members to attend our book fair after school from 2:30-4:00 PM, at the carport entrance.
Parent Volunteer Opportunities: Parent volunteering is highly encouraged and greatly appreciated at SCS! However, parents must be Virtus trained before volunteering at our school. Please register for the upcoming Virtus training session scheduled for this Friday, 2/23 at 9:00 AM.
Iowa Testing: An important letter has been sent home with your youngest child regarding the Diocesan shift from Terra Nova to Iowa testing. Please be sure to check your child's book bag.
Lost and found: Several jackets and sweatshirts have been accumulating within our Lost and Found, if your child is missing an item, please have them visit the lost and found located in the cafeteria.
Enhanced Security and Facility Upgrades: For the past few months we have been planning upgrades to our school's main entrance to increase our security and screening of school visitors. Please see the images of our plans below. Construction is anticipated to be completed during our Easter vacation.
Read Across America Week: This year we will have special learning activities planned for our students to commemorate Read Across America Day, please see the flyer below.

STEP IT UP WITH COINS FOR KIDS AT ST. KIZITO SCHOOL
During this season of Lent let’s help Sister Carole finish building the Nursery and Pre-K building and equip it with solar at St. Kizito School in Lwetunga, Uganda.
St. Kizito School is the sister school of St. Catharine School. Over the past 15 years, our students have raised funds for several projects at St. Kizito’s . The donations from SCS, along with the donations from St. Catharine/St. Margaret Parish, have helped build an entire new School, a 7th grade girls dormitory, a well for freshwater, a Kindergarten classroom, a piggery and a kitchen. Currently all money raised from the SCS Uganda store benefits St.Kizito’s.
This year, St Catharine and St. Margaret’s Parish has donated money to begin constructing the Nursery and PreK Building. We would like to raise money to help finish this building equipped with solar panels.
All SCS homerooms will have a BABY SHOE BANK for any loose change you would like to donate. Once a classroom reaches $5.00, a “CROSS” with the homeroom will be placed on the schoolhouse located in the cafeteria . We will start collecting Monday February 26st thru April 23rd. Every Friday the shoes will be collected and sent to the Office and placed in a designated box. After the homeroom donations are counted, the shoes will be returned for the next week!
LET’S STEP IT UP AND HELP SISTER CAROLE
