ARE YOU INFORMED?
gifted screening and your child's future
Get informed before the results are returned. You know your child. Know your options.
The process for identifying gifted children in TVDSB has changed and you should know about it.
In the past, Thames Valley District School Board identified children as gifted by referring the child to a school psychologist. The psychologist met with the child over several hours, one-on-one, to assess his/her strengths and weaknesses. The highly detailed, individualized report was used to determine who received access to school board resources for gifted education.
The test was administered in January to all students in the 4th grade. The results may have huge ramifications for your child this spring. ABC wants you to be informed.
Gifted Identification - What Parents Need to Know
We will focus on the research available about this test's ability to identify gifted children and the impact this test will have on your search to meet the needs of your bright or gifted child now and in the future. We'll also share how to advocate for your child throughout this process.
121 Studios is hosting us in their space for this meeting. They are located at 211 King Street (the location of the former Novack's store).
