A Message from the Administrative Team

Hi WJHS Families,

We look forward to connecting with you next week during conferences. The sign-up through Meet the Teacher will close on Monday at 11:59 AM. If you need assistance, please contact Cindy Sporn in the main office to assist with signing up. Her email is spornc@wilmette39.org or you can call the WJHS Main Office at (847) 512-6653.

As a reminder, our conferences will be on Zoom this year. Instead of each teacher sending you an email with their individual Zoom link, we will consolidate all of the Zoom links for conferences and send them to you next week. You will need to know the names of the teachers and the schedule of your meetings, to make sure you are there are the right time.

As you prepare for your Zoom conferences, here are a few tips:

1) Be sure Zoom (https://zoom.us/freesignup/) is set up on a mobile device or laptop

2) Please be sure that your name is correct on your Zoom page so teachers know who is in the waiting room. You can change your name if needed by following the steps linked here. In order to ensure security, teachers will not allow people into their conferences if they do not have the correct name.

3) You will join the conference/meeting at your designated time by clicking on the link for the teacher indicated on your schedule. Links will be sent on Monday afternoon and Wednesday afternoon.

4) If you have any difficulty with Zoom, you can access the Zoom Help Center at any time.

Our District technology team has put together this presentation to help you as you prepare and set up Zoom. There is a video, and step-by-step written directions included. Please also remember that if you are having difficulty our technology team is available by submitting a request via our technology help portal.

We look forward to "seeing" you next week!

Have a great weekend!

Would you like to be more involved at school, without having to leave your home or office? Then please consider helping with After School Clubs. We are looking for two co-chairs (a right-brained and left-brained team would be best) and several other helpers. District Update

Ages 5-11 Vaccination Clinic

Earlier today, you should have received an email from District 39 with some details on the two vaccination clinics that will be available in November and December for children ages 5-11. The New Trier Township elementary school districts, in partnership with Jewel-Osco, have set up two vaccine clinics in November/December. The first clinic will be November 12 (with second dose given on December 3) at Carleton Washburne School in Winnetka with the second opportunity coming on November 23 (second dose on December 14) at Misner Auditorium in Glencoe. A registration link for the Nov. 12 clinic will be sent at 6:30 pm on Monday, Nov. 8. All participating districts will be sending this information out at the same time and we expect appointments to be filled up quickly. Please look for this registration link on Monday at 6:30 pm.

Strategic Plan Update

We are continuing to work hard to set the foundation and put our strategic plan into action. Our next step is to create a District Strategic Advisory Team made up of representatives from all stakeholder groups. The main charge of this group will be to identify and design key performance indicators that will help us measure and monitor progress as we aim to Engage, Empower, and Inspire our students and community (Strategic Plan presentation slides and report). We will continue to update you as we move forward.
