he was born March 26, 1874. he had one sister. his father died when he was 11 and he moved in with his mother and his sister. he never finished college. he moved to england were his works were more excepted. until ww1 began then he and his family moved back to the united states.

forst had made some poems and books before moving to england but there he flourished. it was in england that he wrote A Boys Will, North of Boston, and A Road Not Taken. he won many awards for his work New hampshire, collected poems, Further Range, and A Witness Tree are some of his more famous works.
