Glenealy School Newsletter
21st May 2020
Message from Chris
Dear Parents and Caregivers,
We hope this Newsletter finds our whole community well. We are very excited to be welcoming children back to school next week.
On Tuesday I wrote to you with the links and information about our dedicated Return to School website covering:
Timetables
Drop off and Pick Up
What to Bring
How to prepare your child (there is now a video explaining start of day, drop off procedure)
Health and Safety
FAQs (parent questions have now been added)
All of the information you need to plan for return to school is on this site. I want to take the opportunity to thank parents for their positive feedback on the new website.
Thank you also for the many helpful questions you have asked - some of which have been added to the FAQ’s page of the site.
Regarding arrival and pick up at school - If your child takes the school bus, the bus company should be in contact with you to arrange details of pick up. Additional details in our FAQ here.
If you have any further questions - please do not hesitate to ask us.
Reminder - Tomorrow - Friday 22nd May
Teachers will be setting reflective learning pieces tomorrow and will not be available for Zoom connections. This is because staff will be preparing the logistics for the return of children to school.
Along with the reflection work set, we will however be running assemblies during the day. The assemblies will focus on our return to school procedures to help the children feel as comfortable as possible for next week. Links have been sent via your class teacher’s daily emails.
You will also receive a timetable from class teachers tomorrow afternoon, as you would every week of distance learning, describing the learning for next week.
Temperature Check Form - Reminder
Please find linked a temperature check form that should be completed each day before children leave home to journey to school. Please print this form and bring it to school with you. This is also linked on the return to school website here.
Finally, I want to thank you all for your support during the distance learning period. We are looking forward to welcoming children next week.
Best regards,
Chris.
The Year 6 Students have been working incredibly hard over the past few weeks in taking action. Over the next few weeks we will be sharing some of their work in our Newsletters. The first of these is by Darcey in Class 6B.
Quarantine House
Hi everyone
I am Darcey from 6B.
For my Year 6 Exhibition, I am inquiring into ways to make a positive difference during the school closure. I have made a website of fun activities you can try. I hope I can make a positive difference by keeping children and adults entertained. Here is the link to the website
If you try one of these activities could you please send me a photo of what you did and a short message saying why this has helped you during the school closure.
Kind Regards
Darcey 6B
Important Reminder
Has your child's visa status changed?
As a reminder, all children attending an ESF school need the appropriate and valid visa status to do so. Please inform the school if your child's visa status changes. For more information, you may refer to the Immigration section on the ESF website.
