Indian Hill Dispatch
Indian Hill Elementary School
Welcome to the 2022-2023 School Year!
Dear Indian Hill Parents, Students, Families, and Community Members,
I am excited to welcome you back to a new school year! Desks and walls have been cleaned, teacher supplies have been delivered, and floors have been polished. Now we are just waiting for rested teachers to return to the building followed by the laughter and voices of your children. We know it is going to be a great year of learning and fun. Whether you are a returning family, or a new family, we are glad you are part of the Indian Hill family, and we look forward to partnering with you during the 2022-2023 school year!
While there is great excitement at the beginning of a new school year, all children react differently to change. Some may be nervous to leave you after a long summer, others may seem anxious to meet their new teacher and classmates. Please know that our staff is ready to meet each child where they are as the acclimate to a new school year. Finally, we know that the world needs more kindness. You may wish to read or share a similar version of this talk with your child as we approach opening day. Our teachers do a fantastic job of building community in their classrooms, and your support is highly valued. Looking forward to seeing you soon! Ray Porten

School Visitor Procedure Updates
As we prepare for the new school year, we would like to provide instructions for anyone visiting our schools.
When arriving at the school, you will need to press the call button which is placed on the wall near the main entrance of each school. A staff member will greet you over the intercom while viewing you through the security camera placed at each entrance, asking for your name and reason for your visit. Please be patient while your information is being verified.
Once your information is verified, you will be buzzed into the building and asked to stop to check in. You will be asked to provide a photo ID. A visitor ID will be provided if you are accessing the inside of the school. Visitors are not permitted inside of schools until proper check in procedures are completed and access to enter has been approved by a school staff member.
We greatly appreciate your patience and cooperation as we implement these measures to help ensure the safety of our students and staff.
If you have any questions about visitor procedures, please contact the school office.
