The Blue Mosque
The Blue Mosque was built by Sedefkar Mehemed Agha.(blumosque.co) His monument is located in Istanbul, Turkey. Sedefkar was the big brains, or architect, of the beautiful monument.
The Blue Mosque is very large. It is made up of several domes. There is one huge dome at the top, and domes descending down from that, getting smaller in size. Surrounding the mosque are six large pillars. The monument is named "The Blue Mosque" after the blue tiles on the interior.

The total construction process took seven years, starting in 1609 and lasting until 1616.
Many factors made construction of the Mosque challenging. For one, the amount of supplies was very large and cost was high. Other factors were earthquakes and the size and shape of the mosque itself.(todayszaman.com)
