Elective Requests for 2020-2021
In February, our current 6th and 7th graders will be selecting the electives they'd like to take next school year.
We got feedback from many of you last year that you would like the opportunity to be more involved in that process. Because we agree that your input is an important part of making sure each student has a schedule that will help them grow and thrive and explore their interests, we are going to try a new elective request process this year.
Please take some time to talk with your students about their elective choices. You can find our Course Descriptions HERE.
- 7th graders will need to bring their signed elective request form with them on Friday, February 21. During HEART, they will put their elective requests into our electronic system.
- 6th graders will need to bring their signed elective request form with them on Monday, February 24. During HEART, they will put their elective requests into our electronic system.
We will send a reminder email the day before they complete the elective request process. Please let me know if you have any questions.
From our PTA!
Parent Teacher conferences are next week- please help the PTA provide dinner, drinks, and dessert for our teachers. Thank you so much for your generosity, your contributions, and all the ways you make our community better!

February 13-- Winter Parent-Teacher Conferences
Here are some things to know about that evening:
- These will be all open conferences, where you are welcome to visit with your students' teachers any time between 4:00 and 7:30 that works well for your family.
- Please bring your student with you!
- They may set a timer in order to hold themselves accountable to a time limit.
- They may open their classroom to all families waiting for a conference so that those waiting have a comfortable place to sit.
- If you feel you need a longer timeframe or a more private environment to speak to one or more of your student's teachers, please reach out to your counselor: Ms. Gaines (for students with last names A-K at Kelsey.Gaines@jeffco.k12.co.us) or Mr. Gordon (for students with last names L-Z at Guy.Gordon@jeffco.k12.co.us). They will be glad to set up a different time and date for you to have your discussion.

HONESTY
Ms. Agard is always making sure we are getting the right information for passion projects. if she doesn't know what the dates are per say she is honest about it. Thank you Ms. Agard!
Mrs. Putnam is always helping and kind! She represents all the HEART values!
When somebody spilled apple juice, Kate Kringel helped clean it up and comforted her when she felt embarrassed.
EFFORT
Mrs.McLeod always puts a lot of effort into all of her lessons to make sure that her students are captivated in them and are actually learning the things that they need to.
Ella Yancey shows a lot of effort in math. She is very optimistic and always tries her best. She strives to get the best scores on her assignments and it shows. Ella stands out with her effort by paying attention in class and being honest with her grades.
Kudos to all 7th graders persevering as they start to create their World Maps. Creating an accurate and detailed map can be tedious and challenging, so well done thus far!
Mr. Crawford is such a fantastic teacher. He is always thinking about his students and preparing fun lessons for his class. Social Studies is always fun and I look forward to going every day. I really appreciate how much effort he puts into making sure his students learn, understand, and care about what we are learning. Thank you, Mr. Crawford!
