Principal's Message
From the looks of the forecast for the weekend, spring is almost here. It looks like we are going from winter jackets to rain jackets! This week our staff has been receiving their 2nd round of the vaccine and should be completing these on Saturday of this week. I want to thank all of you for your flexibility and understanding, yet again, with our adjusted schedule these last 3 days. I know that all of us have busy schedules that are set many weeks in advance. Over the next two weeks, we will be working on getting our schedules and building ready for a potential "full in" on March 15th.
I hope that everyone has a great weekend and March is right around the corner.
Much appreciation,
Andy

GMS Workshop: Empowering Girls to Pursue STEM careers (Thursdays in March from about 3:30-4:30pm)
Hello everyone,
My name is Ashley Tarrant and I am currently a senior at Jerome High School. I am also a third year participant in the Global Scholars Diploma Program and am working on completing my capstone project. In order to do this, I am directing an after school program to empower girls to pursue STEM careers.
Each Thursday during the month of March—Women’s History Month—I will hold a themed workshop in the Grizzell library for about an hour after school. My primary goals are to provide the girls with positive role models at multiple levels and allow them to explore their interests through engaging activities in multiple STEM fields. Led by experienced high school volunteers and teachers who have inspired me throughout my academic career, we will make conductive dough to create circuits, program video games, design and test bridges in an engineering contest, and much more!
I am very excited about this program and think it will be a great experience for students at Grizzell. If you are interested, check out the attached flyer and sign up your student using the Google Form below. Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions.

7th - 8th Grade Scheduling Meeting
GMS Conferences on Thursday, March 4th from 3:30 - 7:00 (Hybrid and RLA students)
For middle school conferences, we do not meet to discuss every student, but rather those that the school team feels would need additional pieces of support or for those students whose families have reached out with a need to conference. Team leaders will reach out directly to any student's family they would like to request a meeting with. If you wish to request a time slot, please work with the team leader to schedule a time that works for both parties.

About Girl Up:
Girl Up partners with the United Nations foundation to advocate for the rights of adolescent girls in developing countries. At Dublin Jerome Girl Up, we strive to empower girls in their pursuit of adequate education, leadership opportunities, safety, and balanced mental and physical health. Due to the pandemic, our agenda has broadened to impact those locally including every child, not just girls, in their pursuit of adequate education. Therefore, we are sponsoring a homework help program for every student at each of the four Dublin middle schools. In doing so, we will be providing each student with the help and support they need to thrive in the classroom.
In light of changing circumstances due to Covid-19, please be advised that we may be required to switch our available Meet times. If this should occur, an email will be sent out about our new meeting times or days through your home school’s guidance counselors.
If you would like to learn more about Girl Up, please visit the Girl Up website or contact Teresa Troyer, the advisor for DJHS Girl Up, or Caroline Gross, President of DJHS Girl Up. Their contact information is listed below.
Sincerely,

Updated Quarantine Guidelines..."modified quarantine"
Q: What if my child has an exposure to someone with COVID while at school?
A: If an exposure happens within the classroom environment, or on the school bus and masks were worn, the student may continue to attend in person school (but not sports/extracurriculars) during the quarantine period. We refer to this exception created by the Ohio Department of Health as a “modified quarantine”. Students should not attend school if they are exposed to COVID outside the classroom, including during sports and other extracurricular activities, regardless of masking.
COVID-19 reporting
We ask that parents and staff continue to report COVID-19 situations to the District. If your child tests positive for COVID-19, or if your child has a close contact with someone with COVID-19 and must self-quarantine, please complete the form found at this link or contact your school nurse to report. You can review local COVID-19 data at this link and the District’s Learning Mode Decision Making Guide here.
