iReady Snowman Update...keep up the great work!

January 27, 2023
Wasco Families,
We have TWO upcoming opportunities to gather students, teachers, and parents in support of literacy. We would love for you and your families to participate in one or both!
-Beginning February 6, 2023 and ending March 31, 2023 Wasco will be participating in Cougars Reading Club, a reading incentive sponsored by the Kane County Cougars baseball team. Your child will have the opportunity to improve his or her reading skills while earning a ticket to a Cougar game! On Monday, your child will receive the “Game Plan” which lists dates for reading goals and a log to record reading progress. There is a link below for you to view the materials.
-On Thursday, February 9th, Wasco is holding a Literacy Night with games, activities, giveaways, and of course READING. Please RSVP here so we can make sure to have enough supplies on hand for the fun.
Kind Regards,
Principal Stephanie Brennan

A message from Spirit Club and Wellness Club:
Hi Wasco families!
In February, the Spirit Club and Wellness Club will be once again co-hosting a food drive in coordination with the Salvation Army. Students will be able to bring in canned/boxed foods and personal care items (see link below) starting February 6th-February 17th. There will be large, red bins or multiple, smaller, boxes in each grade level hallway and in the main lobby so that students can drop off their food items first thing in the morning. We are looking forward to giving back to our community and want to THANK YOU in advance for helping us make a difference!!

CHAMPS Expectations
Please review these CHAMPS Expectations for the bathroom. Our bathrooms are a busy place throughout the day and it is an area shared by many different classes and grade levels. During the COVID pandemic we adopted a new procedure for the bathroom that limited the number of students in the bathroom at any given time. Despite lifting many of the other COVID precautions regarding social distancing, this particular procedure has remained and has been a tremendous help in maintaining a safe and clean environment for our students. The bathrooms are not a place to congregate and meet with friends so by limiting the number of students that can enter at any given time, we have removed this temptation. Please consider having a conversation with your child(ren) regarding these very important expectations. Thank you!
