Ozark Tiger E-News
Adopt-A-Tiger
Elementary classrooms across the District are participating in the Adopt-a-Tiger program with the OHS football team. Head Football Coach Chad Depee said he hopes this is a purposeful and meaningful project that not only inspires elementary students, but builds character in the athletes.
"This fits our mission statement of 'builders of men, Tigers for life.' We are aspiring to give our players opportunities to pay it forward," he said. "We just want to be able to give back to our youth, connect the dots in our school district, increase community, and help young men grow up and hopefully mentor the youngsters."
Homecoming Football Game
We've got spirit, yes we do. We've got spirit, how about you? The OHS Homecoming Football Game is tonight, Oct. 7 against Neosho. Kick-off is at 7 p.m. Come support our Tigers!
As always at home sporting events, no student backpacks, purses or bags of any kind are allowed to be brought into the stadium. This is in place for the safety and security of all students and spectators.
You can also watch varsity football games on the Ozark Tigers Athletics YouTube.
The homecoming dance will be in the auxiliary gym following the game from 9:30 - 11:30 p.m. No purses, backpacks or bags of any kind are allowed in the homecoming dance. Student IDs will be required of all OHS students for entry. Guests must also have a driver’s license or school issued student identification for entry as well. If your child needs transportation from the dance please make arrangements to have them promptly picked up at 11:30 p.m.
Ozark Innovation Center Ribbon Cutting Set Oct. 14
Please join us for the official Ribbon Cutting Oct. 14 to celebrate the completion of the Ozark Innovation Center. Ozark voters approved the $26.5 million no-tax-increase bond issue on the June 2, 2020, ballot as part of Operation Renovate & Innovate. We are excited to show off this extension of the main Ozark High School campus while preserving and renovating commercial property that is rich in history — the old Fasco building. Tours start at 2:00 p.m. Light refreshments and tours will also follow the ceremony.

Students with $20+ Lunch Balance to Receive Alternate Meals
Due to high lunch balances, starting Oct. 17, students with balances more than $20 will receive an alternate meal.
Meals are no longer free this year, which we know is a big change for families. You can pay your child's lunch balance online through the Parent Portal under "Meal Service." Checks can also be sent with students or dropped off at any school building, including District Office. We appreciate your understanding.
Have You Filled Out Your Form?
It's not too late to fill out the Free & Reduced Lunch Form! If your family qualifies for free or reduced meals, your student may also qualify for:
- Reduced before and after school Tiger Care
- Free snack milk
- Free ACT tests (up to four)
- Free college applications at participating schools
- Waivers for recreational sports teams
On top of that, the District's Free & Reduced rate provides increased funding for school programs and opportunities for grants. Click here to see the income guidelines, application links and other important forms. Forms are also available at our school buildings.
National Custodian Appreciation Day
Oct. 2 was National Custodian Appreciation Day! It takes a village to raise a child, and custodians are part of that village! Ozark School District has amazing custodians who not only keep our schools clean and safe, but have a heart for kids. Thank you!
Undefeated COC Champs!
Congratulations to the OHS Varsity Softball Team for being named COC Champions and having an undefeated season! The team finished 9-0 in conference play. The JV closed out the season with a 18-2-1 record.
Fire Prevention Month
Thank you to the Ozark Fire Protection District for stopping by our elementary schools and teaching our students "Fire won't wait, plan your escape." October is Fire Prevention Month and we encourage everyone to talk about fire safety with your family! We love being a part of such a supportive community!
