How To Make Clean, Drinkable Water

On A Tropical Island

Salt water will dehydrate you and the water might have bacteria that might weaken you further. Along with hurting you, salt water might also cause hallucinations and paranoia.

Make a Solar Still

Solar Still's are easy to make and you should be able to find or have all of the materials that you will need to be able to build one. A solar still takes the moisture from the greenery that you put in the hole and makes it evaporate. The evaporated water then collects on the plastic sheet. The small rock that you put on the plastic sheet over the container dircets the evaporated water down wards into the cup that is in the middle of the hole that you can drink through the drinking tube. The water that you will be drinking will be purified.

Water tight container or cup

Plastic sheet

Long straw or drinking tube (optional)

Small rock

Step one:

Find an area that gets sunlight for most of the day. Next, dig a hole that is three feet wide and two feet deep.

Step two:

Place your container in the middle of the hole that you dug. Surround the container with as much greenery as you can find. Make sure that the greenery that you select is moist and not dried out.

Step three:

Cover the hole with theplastic sheet. Put dirt around the edges to make sure the plastic stays in place. After you finish anchoring the plastic sheet, put a small rock in the center of the plastic over the cup. This is the waters guide so it drips into the cup and not back into the greenery.
