Students enjoyed a variety of presentations and activities, as well as lunch featuring foods from around the world. The day ended with a Wish/Action Tag activity where students hung tags on trees with a wish written on one side and an action they will take on the other. Visit PUSD's Facebook page for photos. Physics Students Work to Bring Clean Water to Houses in Panama

Students in Ms. Chamberlain’s physics classes are applying lessons learned in the classroom to real world situations through a partnership with Global Brigades - an international non-profit working to meet the health and economic goals of communities around the world. Funded by PUSD’s Department of Diversity, Inclusion and Equity (DEI), students have joined with Global Brigades to develop and apply their STEM skills to improve access to clean drinking water for partner communities. Students met via Zoom with a Water Council in Panama on April 28 to discuss efforts to connect houses with the town’s water supply. After interviewing Council members to learn their specific needs, students will spend the next few weeks designing a gravity-based system to bring clean water to residents, present the project to local engineers and fundraise to help make the project a reality.
