Tutoring and Enrichment Programs

Dear Parents,

Tutoring and enrichment will look different this second semester by focusing on an intervention time for all of our students during the day. We have moved some curriculum time during the school day to allow 30-45 minutes of intervention time to serve more students. In order to make sure that we, as educators, have the best plan in place for this intervention time, the teachers will be conducting extended planning sessions on Wednesday afternoons. Rasor will no longer be offering Enrichment groups to the community; instead, enrichment will be provided by outside agencies at Rasor Elementary.

Below is information about the programs being provided on different afternoons of the week; however, know that transportation will NOT be offered. If you would like to sign up your child for a program, please follow the directions for that particular program. This information below was also sent out as a hard copy version last Friday. We look forward to continuing to serve your students in even more effective techniques by altering our Wednesday afternoons and still offering some type of enrichment programs.

News from the Nurse

Please remind your child that the most important way to stay healthy this flu season is to continue to wash his / her hands. We use Henry the Hand to help the students remember good hand washing techniques. Here is Henry the Hands 4 Principles of Hand Awareness.

The 4 Principles of
Hand Awareness

1. Wash your hands when they
are dirty and BEFORE eating
2. DO NOT cough into your hands
3. DO NOT sneeze into your hands
4. Above all, DO NOT put your
fingers into your eyes, nose
or mouth

Here is a link to a video that you can access at home and watch with your children for a fun way to remember how to wash their hands. Enjoy and stay safe and healthy!
