Mrs. Walters' News
Dear Bushnell Elementary Families,
I can't believe it is October already! The colors on the playground are magnificent!
The link below contains a Kent county dashboard containing all confirmed cases of covid-19 by school district in Kent county. The Kent County Health Department issued a statement last week to school administrators commending our safety efforts and mitigation measures. They also shared how these efforts are paying off in very low spread of the virus so far. Please continue to stay vigilant and remind your child how wearing a mask and socially distancing will help to keep us all safe, healthy and in school!
Your students were introduced to 'Brag Tags' this week. October's focus is RESPECT, which is one pillar of our bear necessities! Teachers will be watching for student behaviors that exhibit the character trait of respect throughout the month and hand out a brag tag for it. Each month following will feature another specific tag that all our students will earn throughout the month! This is another positive reinforcement practice to encourage great behavior at school.
Conferences are coming up in just a few weeks. Due to our safety protocols, they will be virtual this year and will occur throughout the week of October 12-16. More details will be sent to you through your child's teacher with signup times available to accommodate your schedules.
We finished up all in person assessments this week. Virtual students, please see the letter below for a schedule to come in for testing next week!
Have a great weekend everyone!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Erin Walters
