Mason Gazette

Dear Mason Families,
Thanks for being awesome,
Roy Bishop, Jr.
Principal
Reading Tip of the Week:
- What’s “Just Right”? Children feel confident and competent when they read books that are “just right.” But how do you find a “just right” book? Have your child read the back and front cover, and first page of the book. If there are more than five words that he cannot pronounce or understand in context, the book may be too challenging. Be supportive about finding a more perfect fit. Choosing the right book will help your little reader feel successful.
Dinner Conversations:
-What was the best thing that happened to you this week?
-What outside activity do you like to do the most during recess?
-Finish this sentence: I am the happiest at school when.....
Fun Writing Opportunity for March:
1. Name one Famous African American person you would like to know more about and why?
2. March is Women's History Month! Why is it important to celebrate Women's History Month?
March's Positive Behavior Intervention Support (PBIS) Focus
Office Behavior- Treating people in the office with respect and using our manners when asking for supplies.
March's Character Word of the Month: Empathy- Empathy is the ability to understand how someone else is feeling or to understand the situation they are in. It is the ability to “put yourself in someone else's shoes” and to understand the way a situation might make them feel.
