Principal's Weekly News 9/22/14

It's a Marvelous Monday!

Students hustled through the school house doors refreshed and excited to learn after UTSC family day at WHS and Brownies and Books at JSE. If you were able to attend our 1st Annual Brownies and Books Event, you know it was a wonderful representation of our JSE family and community commitment to reading! Thank you to all the volunteer brownie chefs, and we have some good ones out there:) Students were delighted to hear teachers read and be the first to check out new books in the library. I have included a couple of pictures to highlight the event.

Progress reports went home Thursday. We send these home every nine weeks to ensure we keep you informed. Yet, I want to remind you that your best resource in monitoring progress on a weekly basis can be found in your child's agenda, take home folders, teacher newsletters, and Harmony for grades. If you need your Harmony username or password please let me know. We look forward to meeting with all of you in November at Parent Teacher Conferences to discuss your child's progress. In the meantime, please continue to communicate your questions and concerns with your child's teacher. Time is of the essence in learning and supporting your child each night!

Every Student...Every Day!

Students in grades 3-5 have started our anti-bullying program with Mrs. Fields, our home school adviser. Classroom lessons, JSE T.V. news, and our school house walls focus on bullying prevention. Students learn the various types of bullying and how to play an active role in stopping bullying. As always, if you ever have a concern please call Mrs. Fields directly.
