Richland Two Board of Trustees forgives two weather days

During the Feb. 12, 2019 board meeting, the Richland Two Board of Trustees voted to forgive two of the five school days missed due to inclement weather this past fall.

Students missed four school days (Tuesday, Sept. 11 through Friday, Sept. 14) by order of Governor Henry McMaster due to Hurricane Florence and another school day on Thursday, Oct. 11, due to Hurricane Michael.

By law (Section 591425 of the South Carolina Code of Laws), districts are required to include at least three severe weather makeup days in each year’s academic school calendar. Students and staff used October 18, October 19 and December 21 as weather make-up days. The remaining weather make-up day (March 15) will serve as a student holiday, as long as there are no more weather-related closings.
