A Message from Dr. Lowry
Timberwolf Family,
We had another great week at WoodCreek Junior High School. We have so much to celebrate this time of year! Our Orchestra students had an amazing concert, and I am proud of them and their directors.
Our Basketball teams played some amazing games this week. The Boys’ and Girls’ Basketball B-teams will play in their mid-season tournaments on Thursday, Dec. 8th and Saturday, Dec. 10th. Please check the schedule below for your team’s location.
We wrapped up Friday with our PTA hosting Fun Food Friday. Thank you to everyone for a positive way to end our week!
This Monday and Tuesday, our Choir and Band will host their winter concert, so please check the calendar for times and locations.
Our Toy Drive continues this week with our Student Council. Please consider purchasing a new, unwrapped toy and sending it to school with your student. All donations will be given to Texas Children's Hospital to brighten the holidays of children who are staying there. Thank you for your consideration!
Take care, be safe, and GO TIMBERWOLVES!
Dr. Andrew Lowry

Katy Advanced Program (KAP)
The Katy Advanced Program (KAP) provides students with an opportunity to engage in above-grade level coursework in the areas of math, science, language arts, and social studies. KAP courses are available beginning in 6th grade and are open to all students. Every student is encouraged to take at least one advanced level course in an area of interest.
The district will host a KAP Awareness Night via Zoom on Thursday, December 8, 2022, at 6:30PM. This is an opportunity for parents of students in grades 5-6 to learn about KAP prior to course selections. Parents of students who are considering KAP courses for the first time should plan to attend.

Crossing Guard Needed
We are currently looking for another crossing guard to join our Timberwolf Family! If you or someone you know is interested in helping us out in the afternoons from 4:00-4:30PM please email Mrs. Robin Wollin @robindwollin@katyisd.org
LIBRARY BOOK NOTIFICATIONS
In alignment with Board policy EFB Local - Library Materials, beginning November 7, the District will begin emailing all parents/guardians on file each time their student checks out a library book.
SECONDARY ENGLISH CLASSROOM LIBRARIES
English Language Arts (ELA) Classroom libraries allow students immediate access to independent reading material, which supports the English Language Arts Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills. Secondary students have the option to check out books from their English teacher’s classroom library. Please note that beginning November 7, prior to a student being able to check out an ELA classroom library book, parental consent will be required. On November 7, parents will be able to access the Katy ISD Parent Option Portal, located in MyKaty Cloud, to provide consent for their secondary student to check out books from their English teacher’s classroom. If parents do not provide consent via the Parent Option Portal, their secondary student will be unable to check out an English classroom library book.
