IMPORTANT Car Rider Drop Off/Pick Up Information...
- Pull as far up as you are able. This allows more students to be dropped off/picked up at one time, which will move the line more quickly and minimize wait time.
- Be mindful of other people and vehicles as you pull out of the car line and into the "passing lane" to exit. Please pull out slowly and carefully.
- Please drive slowly as you enter and exit the car line and Mill Creek property.
- Please do your best to drop off as quickly (but still safely) as possible. If you need to exit your car to help your child, and this will require an extended period of time, we kindly ask that you park in one of the parking lot spaces and walk your child up to the sidewalk area. This will avoid major backups in the car line.
Thank you for your assistance!

Principal's Post
Hello and Happy Friday, Mill Creekers!
Mill Creek's Halloween Celebrations will occur on the 1/2 day morning of Friday, October 29. While we are still ironing out specifics, we can communicate the following at this point:
- Our Halloween Parade will occur early in the school day, start time will be between 9:00 and 9:30 a.m. (a specific start time will be communicated). The Halloween Parade is weather dependent. If inclement weather occurs on the 29th, we will hold classroom celebrations only.
- Classroom celebrations will occur after the Halloween Parade. For this year, the District is allowing food but it may not be consumed in the classroom. Any food sent in for classroom Halloween Celebrations needs to be individually wrapped (students may still bring in their individual, daily snack for personal consumption in school). Halloween Celebration food items will be sent home with students for consumption at home, in order to allow parents to determine whether they want their child to eat the food. Any crafts done during classroom celebrations will not involve food.
We look forward fun and spooky day on the 29th!

From the Desk of Mr. Murtha
We are in the midst of National Hispanic Heritage Month, which began on September 15 and runs until October 15. I may sound like a broken record when I write this, but I truly believe that our world and community are enhanced by the many cultures, ethnicities, and nationalities on the planet, and Hispanic Culture is certainly a significant contributor. Our teachers have been provided with resources that highlight Hispanic culture, and many of them have been integrating some of these resources into their instruction. For any families who are interested in learning more about Hispanic culture and sharing it with their children, here are some of those resources:
- National Hispanic American Heritage Month 2021 (hispanicheritagemonth.gov)
- Hispanic Heritage Month Resources for Teachers, Parents, & Kids | Georgia Public Broadcasting (gpb.org)
- Lessons for Hispanic Heritage Month! | Education World
- Hispanic Heritage Month | NEA
- A Month of Ideas for Celebrating Hispanic Heritage | Scholastic
Happy National Hispanic American Heritage Month to the Hispanic members of our community!
Have a great weekend!
