Week of October 5th
Principal's Note
It's hard to believe that we are beginning the 2nd six weeks of school already. Thank you so much making the first six weeks peaceful and enjoyable. I truly enjoy working with each and every one of you. Each week, I get the question, "How do you like working at Dealey?" I simply answer, "It's amazing." And....it is, because of you!
October is a busy month for us. Skate night is this Thursday, Carnival is right around the corner, and we will also have our first Global Friday for our International Academy students. Not to mention, we will have Fair Day, PD, and Parent Conference Night.
We only have four days this week, so let's make them great! Administrators should be finishing Spot Observation #2 on everyone this week.
As always, let us know if we can do anything to assist you this week.
We appreciate all of your hard work.

Title I Reward School Recognition
Last Thursday, I had an opportunity to attend a Reward School Recognition Breakfast to celebrate the achievements of each school within Region 10 that received Title I Reward School status.
Dealey received two awards, one for Montessori and the other for our International Academy. Both portions of the school received recognition for High Performance and High Progress.
You should be very proud of the hard work that went into this accomplishment. Go Dealey!
Leadership Opportunity
I have attached two word documents in the e-mail outlining an opportunity for our school to receive special recognition for all of the great things that lead to our success. It would be a great leadership opportunity to add to your TEI summative notes if you would like to lead a group or take initiative to complete the application mentioned in the e-mail. The top 6 schools will be selected to have a video of their school posted on the TEA website. Remember - you don't have to be applying for DTR to take on a leadership role. This also aligns with our campus action plan - Key Action #3 - Expanding Leadership Density.
Please e-mail me to let me know if you are interested and I will communicate all parties involved so we can get the ball rolling.

News About Nature Exchange
Nature Exchange has been a busy place the past couple of weeks! In order to create a more streamlined process for students to visit and exchange their artifacts, our parent volunteers are asking to make the following adjustment:
PK - 2nd Grade will visit from 1:15 - 1:45
ANY GRADES can visit from 1:45 - 3:00
Thank you for your help with this!
October is National Bullying Awareness Month
Teachers,
Bullying behavior can happen anywhere. Let's make sure we are aware of the signs to keep our students free from experiencing this type of behavior. We have the power to stop it.
Thank you for taking this matter seriously.
