Please keep Eileen Shacklett in your thoughts and prayers. She had to have emergency surgery to remove her gallbladder. She is recovering, but will be out for the first few days of school.
Julie Mofield and her family sold their house and have started building their new home. They are living in a rental house for now, but are excited to get into a new home.
Theresa Mattingly's son, Ethan, took the dietetics certification test in July and passed. He is now a registered dietitian! He plans to start his master's in the fall in exercise science/kinesiology. Her youngest son, Jacob, will be moving to Lexington and starting classes at UK in late August. He is excited. Her oldest son, Nick, has his own business. He does video live streaming and various other technology related things. He and a business partner are globally launching an app in August that Nick has worked on tirelessly. Theresa and Glen are very proud and feel truly blessed.
Cheryl Vanover went to Panama City Beach with her family, her mom, and her brother's family this summer. They had fabulous weather and great food! Lauren decided to be in the marching band at JHHS, so Cheryl is finding herself revisiting her own high school band years. Cheryl is now a band booster parent and she loves it!
Cheryl wants everyone to know that she will be mostly at Ekron this year. She will no longer be at Payneville but will be serving the Headstart and CTRP students at Communicare.
Julie Nevitt took a position outside of the county as a child and family advocate.
Aimee Pike learned how to do some gardening this summer. She also spent lots of time playing with her nephews.
Tammy Lane has been camping with her family this summer. She is back working at Southern Grace Bed and Breakfast working in their new barn doing weddings. In the last two weeks, her family has moved and bought their own place. She and her husband, Skip, will celebrate their 18th anniversary on August 1st. It's been a short but fun summer for her family.
Michelle Hardesty is going to be a grandma again! Her son, Chris, and daughter in law, Kayla, are expecting their second child in March. They got to hear the heartbeat for the first time recently. Chris, Kayla, and their first born, Taylor, will be coming home to visit in September.
Rose Welch got to vacation with four of her grandchildren. Her daughter, her son in law, and Taylor and Reese came in on leave to Florida to spend two weeks with her son in law's two children. Rose and her husband met them in Fort Meyers, FL and camped. They went to a place called Zoomers and Reese wanted Rose to ride the little roller coaster with her. She doesn't do roller coasters very well. See the picture below for proof of this!
