A Message from the Principal:
February/March 2020
Dear Families:
It is hard to believe that we are halfway through this school year. It seems like just yesterday that we started the school year. We recognize and celebrate African American History this month. Students in each grade level will be learning more about the contributions and importance of African Americans in our Country’s history.
This is a good time to reflect on our own history and diversity. It is important to instill in our children a tolerance and understanding in dealing with people from different ethnicities, religions, and socio-economic backgrounds. Building strong character is an important component in building strong citizens.
On February 20th @5:30 pm we will hold our annual Cultural Heritage Night. This is a fun, learning experience for the whole family. Each grade level will spot light a different country and there will be crafts that families can create together. We will also have our Tasting Room and ask that you check your email for the sign up to provide a dish to share. We hope to see you there.
As March approaches, we will celebrate Read Across America Week recognizing Dr. Seuss’ birthday with activities each day. Be on the lookout for yearbook order forms and spring picture order forms. We will also be gearing up for spring MAP and SOL testing.
It is hard to believe that spring is only 25 days away. Working together we ensure success for all of our students.
As always, please contact me with any questions or concerns.
