LATE START DAY FEBRUARY 6, 2019
Muffins with Mom
A NOTE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear Lowell Families,
What a week! I think we have all had enough of this cold weather! Hopefully, we can rebound a little over the weekend with a bit of a warm-up. Take some time this weekend to dethaw and enjoy!
Students are bringing home their middle of the year NWEA Test results today. We are very proud of our students for their hard work and effort during these assessments. Please take some time to review the results. Contact your child’s teacher if you have any questions.
Just a reminder that Wednesday, February 6, 2019 is a LATE START DAY for our students. Buses will pick up at stops one hour later than the normal pick-up time. Students are to arrive at school at 9:30am. They will be considered tardy if they arrive after 9:40am.
We thank you for continuing to support our Kindness and Justice Challenge! We had a sea of red at Lowell today! Students who purchased a red American Heart Association t-shirt got to participate in our Hoops for Heart event in the gym this afternoon. Lots of fun for all! Our Penny War is continuing throughout our Challenge -- thanks for allowing the students to participate in this! All money donated will go to our three organizations that we are sponsoring -- American Heart Association, Riley Hospital for Children, and Warren Early Childhood Center.
Our Muffins with Mom event is being rescheduled to Thursday, February 7 at 8:00am. If you have already sent in an RSVP, there is no need to do so again. Thank you for your understanding with our need to reschedule. We look forward to seeing many of our Moms and students next Thursday morning!
Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Kind and Just Acts
Dinner and Movie
It's Time to Show our Superpower of Kindness!
For the next several weeks, Lowell students will create "Superhero Capes" to be displayed in our hallways. Students will be encouraged to think about how we treat one another and how we must work together to make this world a better place for everyone. When a student shows an act of kindness, they get a kindness mask to hang on their grade level cape. It is great to see masks being added to our capes! We are Lowell...to the CORE ~~ students spreading kindness like it’s confetti! Keep up the great work!
During the months of January and February, students can bring in money for our Penny War to donate toward the Early Childhood Center in Warren Township, American Heart Association, and Riley Hospital. Students may bring in pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters, and bills.
One Way all parents can help is by simply enforcing and encouraging the demonstration of kind and just acts at home! Thank you for teaching the valuable lessons of kindness and justice through your own example and support. These will be a part of your child's life forever just as your child will always be somebody special to us!
