Thurston Colt Round-Up
Weekly Student and Family Newsletter
From the Principal
Hello Families and Students:
First semester is almost in the books. In this letter, we will be giving you a few reminders for what is coming up in the next two weeks.
In This Newsletter:
-Textbooks
-End of Semester
-Cookies 'n' Cram
-Lost and Found
-FInals Schedule
Textbooks
This is a good time to find any textbooks or library books that will not be used in the second semester and need to be returned. Your student will know which classes are year-long classes and which are semester classes. Please take a minute to look for anything that will need to be turned in and take them to the library.
End of Semester
We only have 5 school days left before finals week. That means we have 2 A days and 3 B days left to get missing assignments turned in and tests retaken. Your semester grade is highly important because it is when credit is awarded in high school. If your student is behind, now is a great time to have them connect with our tutoring center or their counselor. The final day to turn in any assignments is the 28th.
Cookies āNā Cram
Unfortunately, due to the increase rates of Covid, we are canceling the Cookies āNā Cram event planned for next week. We hope tp continue this tradition before finals next semester.
Lost and Found
During finals week, we are going to be putting out our lost and found. Over those three days, please instruct your students to stop by and pick up any item that is theirs that they have misplaced over the course of the first semester. Following the three days of finals week, all remaining items will be donated.
Finals Schedule
Below is the finals schedule for January 31st, February 1st and 2nd. Please note the later start times and early releases. Buses will run on their normal schedule, so plan transportation for your student accordingly.
It has been quite the first semester. We appreciate the patience and support for getting this year going in spite of Covid, staff changes, and the many short notice changes in schedules and programs. We are working hard to have a strong start to second semester.
Respectfully,
Your Admin Team
