Dear Erickson Families,
The Lorado Taft Outdoor Education day trip to Oregon, Illinois was a blast for our 5th grade students! Please enjoy the pictures below. Earth Week is next week. Please see the flyer below and try to participate in the earth friendly activities as a family.
5th Grade Stage Crew...If your child is in 5th grade and would like to be a part of the 5th grade musical stage crew this year, please fill out and return the permission slip to Mr. Welch (music teacher) by Monday, April 17th. Paper copies went home with interested students as well.
Kindergarten Registration is OPEN. If you have a student that is eligible for kindergarten for the 23-24 school year, please register your students (see info below.) Kindergarten Visitation is scheduled for Monday, May 1st at 10:00-11:00 and 1:30-2:30. When you register you will sign up for a visitation time. On visitation day, parents will learn about kindergarten and the students will visit a kindergarten classroom. Please register!
Third, fourth, and fifth grade will participate in the Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR) April 10-14. There are two reading assessments and three math assessments. Please make sure students receive a good night's rest, eat breakfast and have a snack packed for the day. A motivational pep talk (take your time, you can do it!, try your best, etc.) each morning with your child would also help! :-) The assessment schedule is below.
Student Placement for 2023-2024 will take place in May. Parents can assist in the process by completing a Student Placement Form 23-24 Parent input about their child’s academic experiences can provide valuable insight to this process. Parents should not use this form to recommend a specific classroom teacher. If you are interested in filling out the form (this is NOT mandatory), please complete by May 5.
Please do not hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions, comments, or feedback. The best way to reach me would be via email or phone: email@example.com or 630-529-2223.
