St. Luke Weekly SMORE
October 31, 2021
Leadership Message
Last week students were involved in all sorts of Halloween activities. It was so great to see the spirit of Halloween in the school. This week will pay tribute to those men and women around the world who fought and worked for the peace and freedom that we enjoy in Canada today. Our Remembrance Day Assembly begins at 10:45 am on Friday, November 5th. Please consider joining our Grades 1 - 6 virtually to pay tribute with this link or join the Grades ⅞ at the South Cooking Lake Cemetery for the No Stone Left Alone tribute at 11:00am. All students will receive a poppy to wear at their celebrations on Friday. We will be accepting donations for the Tofield Legion all this week which will be collected by the classroom teacher.
We look forward to our Fall break November 8th to the 12th and wish you all a safe break hoping our students rest and relax over these days. There will be no SMORE next week as I too will be enjoying the break. Have a great week!
Blessings,
Mrs. Cathy Hinger

St Luke is proud to once again be hosting a Scholastic Book Fair!! Things will work a little different this year, as the Book Fair will be a hybrid one. What does that mean you ask?? Well, the students will be able to look and purchase from the fair in the library, while you as parents, get to shop from the comfort of your own homes.
Covid rules will be in place, as each class with have a turn to come down and make purchases. Purchases of course will take place only if child has permission from parents. Money should be placed in baggies, marked clearly with their name and amount given, and handed to their teacher for safekeeping. We will also accept debit cards from the older students, and staff.
The Book Fair will also be available online. The link is listed below, and will be live for the whole week, starting Nov 1st until the 7th. (This link will not be open until Nov 1st.) All purchases will be shipped pre packaged to the school, best part of that is its FREE SHIPPING! A great way to shop for Christmas, as packages are sealed and books are not visible.
Students will be given a wish list to fill out during Book Fair viewing, that they can bring home and share their favorite finds with you!
The Book Fair will start on November 2nd and run until November 4th at St Luke’s in the library.
The online Fair will run Nov 1st – Nov 7th, and the link for our school is

We hope you will enjoy this new version of our Book Fair, and remember that all purchases will help add resources and new books to our library, while also supporting our student’s love of reading!
