Egg Harbor Township High School
Week of January 30, 2022
A MESSAGE FROM OUR PRINCIPAL
Greetings,
It’s hard to believe that February is here already! Before you know it we will be graduating our seniors. Speaking of graduation, just a reminder to all that our last day of school is June 24, 2022, which will also be graduation. As you know we were off this past Monday due to snow, so that day will be made up on March 11. The calendar had students off on March 11 and only teachers in. Now it will be a half day for students to make up the snow day and not extend our calendar later into June.
As for senior activities, students should pay attention to the class of 2022 Google calendar. Information will be there for Mr. EHT, prom, and graduation. Remember, nothing has been canceled so we will be having all activities that the school usually has.
Moving onto other great things happening! Our winter sports are winding down. All are waiting for the championship brackets to see who they will be up against. Best of luck to all teams! Here are some games you may be interested in attending!
Saturday 2/5/22 Wrestling 10:00 Am at the Prep
Monday 2/7/22 Boys Basketball 5:30 Home against St. Joe
Other things to look forward to are:
February 17 Orchestra festival for grade 6-12 in the HS auditorium at 7:00 PM
February 24 National Honor Society Inductions HS Auditorium at 6:30.
February 4 is a half day for students and the teachers will have an in-service the remainder of the day.
Until next week, have a wonderful weekend! Stay safe, be well, continue to dream of the possibilities ahead of us, be happy and smile at someone!
Ms. Connor

STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT
Students of the Week
Nominee: Emelyn Almarante Rosario
Nominated by: Ms. Casto
Emelyn recently transferred to EHTHS from the Dominican Republic. In the short time she has been with us, she has made huge progress in her academic classes and in learning English. In class, we have been working on a project using a specific app. In her free time, Emelyn taught herself how to use all of the features of the app and has generously helped her classmates to learn the features as well!
Nominee: Sharon Buritica Usuga
Nominated by: Lara Subbotin
Sharon was helping another student with electron configuration in chemistry class. She even took the student up to the board to work on example problems. She is one of the lucky ones where chemistry comes easy to her and she is very quick and willing to help her classmates.

Student Assistance Program and Resources
The High School has adopted a new bullying-prevention program for this school year!
#DAY1--a staff and student-led philosophy that will serve to foster a building-wide atmosphere of kindness and inclusion.
This program was started a few years ago in Bergen County by the Tyler Clementi Foundation and has gained momentum throughout the state and country for use in schools, community groups, workplaces, and sports teams. We even have 3 of our own students who were selected by the foundation as leaders for this initiative!
The premise is simple: the adults in the building make a “declaration statement” about behavior that is expected, as well as behavior that is unacceptable, and we all pledge to conduct ourselves accordingly. This includes seeking help when we witness unacceptable behavior occurring.
This notion is called being an #Upstander.
Has your student taken their #Upstander Pledge yet?!?
Have them sign into their school account and click here! 😊
