Past History
In the past Ojibwe used to live in the United States. They had problems with their transportation.
Present History
Today the Ojibwe tribe live in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Michigan in the United States and in Southern Canada. They live in Ontario, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan. They had a problem and it was that some of the tribe spoke English and some of them spoke Ojibway.
The Food They Ate
Fish
The Ojibwe's hunted fish for food to eat for breakfast, lunch, or breakfast.
Corn Shreds
Wild rice
They ate wild rice because it's like the same thing as regular rice that we eat and because it's rice that you find in the wild.
Clothing
The clothing that the woman wore were long dresses with removable sleeves. Men wore breechcloths and leggings. They all wore moccasins or ponchos.
Moccasins
Moccasins are the type of shoes the Ojibwes wore when they walked around. They are exactly like the shoes we wear.
Long dress
Woman wore a long dress so it would cover their whole body and they wouldn't be so cold. (Those were their cool type of shoes.)
Breechcloths
Breechcloths are what men wore . They also wore leggings that are black or brown with a bit of dirt.
Home
The Ojibwes had a house that was made of birchbark wood. Their house was called a Wigwam or a Waginoguns. They were made of leaves, dirt, and wood.
Tools
The Ojibwes had stone tools. They made chip stones and they used a stick to make stone hammers. They also made bows and arrows.
Broken tool
This is a broken tool that the Ojibwes used. I think it looks like a hammer.
Chip Stones
These chip stones are used to make a stone hammer.
Bow and Arrow
They used bow and arrow so they didn't have to scare the animals and get them from behind.
Games
Fun games the Ojibwe's played were dart where you throw a dart at something and a hoop game where you had to toss a hoop.
Interesting Facts
The most interesting facts I think about their life is that kids had toys and dolls. What I also thought was interesting was that they had a clan system. I think, the fact that there are nearly 150 different bands in Chippewa Indians is very interesting.
My thoughts
I think the Ojibwes were very cool to learn about. I liked doing this project because I could get a little creative learning about it.
