All School Pajama Day (Friday, December 21st)
Mark your calendar for the All-School Pajama Day on Friday, December 21st! Wear your favorite holiday PJ’s to make the winter parties a little more cozy and festive! Dress appropriately for recess and also within the school’s dress code!
6th Grade Beginning Band
The Beginner Band is gearing up for their first official concert this Friday. They are performing with the PHMS Advanced Bands and Guard at Reardon Auditorium, Anderson University at 7 pm.
After the concert, we will have band next week only on Monday and Tuesday. The remainder of the week 6th grade students will go back to their elementary schedule (December 19, 20, and 21). We will resume band class after break January 7th.

Report Cards on the Parent Portal!
Online report cards for the end of the 2nd grading period will be available by logging onto the PowerSchool parent portal: http://www.arabiangrades.com after 4:30 p.m. on Friday, January 11th. Please contact the office if you have forgotten your Username and/or password. It’s a good time to verify all information is correct and up to date (including the Early Dismissal plan) in the “Demographics’ section. Remember to do this for EVERY student on your account. Thank you!
Snow Make-Up Day!
Time for Change Fundraiser: Mrs. Reth's Classroom Wins a Pizza Party!
Thank you for participating in the Time for Change fundraising campaign. We are so thankful that you were willing to help raise awareness and allow the kids to participate and help support children in the community. Funds will be used to purchase socks and underwear for the upcoming shopping season.
We are proud to announce that Mrs. Reth's classroom collected the most change - $107! Greeks Pizzeria will be providing pizzas to her classroom! Congratulations!
Hour of Code!

Cyberbullying!

Ridge Readers: Deadline to earn a Ridge Readers shirt is December 31st!
This year in order to earn one of the 2018-19 Ridge Readers T-shirts, students must log 750 minutes by the end of 2018. The last day to log minutes will be Monday, December 31, 2018. Keep reading & logging minutes during Winter Break to earn this special prize! Log monthly minutes through the link below!
Science Fair coming in January!
Science Fair has been set for Wednesday, January 16th. It will take place during the school day. Kindergarten through 6th grade are invited to participate. Every student who participates will receive a ribbon and 15 students will receive a Finalist medal during the awards presentation. We will also choose our overall winner to represent Maple Ridge at Ball State University on Saturday, February 16th. Awards will take place at 2:30 PM on January 16th. Sign-ups will be on Google Forms again and the information packet is linked on the Google Form: https://goo.gl/forms/SWgc6tHzAG8iW3nB3
They are also available in the office. If you are unable to sign-up online, please contact the office for assistance. If you child wants to get a head start on a project, please take time to view this packet! Deadline to sign-up is Friday, January 11th.
Students will need to bring in their Science Fair projects on the day of Science Fair in the morning and will need to take projects home at the end of the day. Judging will begin at 9:00 AM the day of the Science Fair. Please contact Chris Brown @ mailto:cbrown@smcsc.com if you have any other questions. Good luck on your projects!

Holiday Helping Hands:
Many thanks to the local churches - Pendleton Christian Church, Fall Creek Christian Church, and Pendleton First United Methodist for shopping for our families! Also a special thanks to Pendleton AMVETS Post 26 for their monetary donation again this year and to all of our parents, students and staff for helping make this project a huge success! Thank you Ms. Kirsten Diedrich for heading up this project to help make everyone's Christmas brighter!

December is time to SYNERGIZE!
- 3rd - 6th grade students are focusing on how we can work together! We can accomplish more together than we can alone!
- 1st & 2nd graders are learning the difference between tattling and telling/reporting.
- Ask your child to explain the difference between the two!!
- K students are practicing sharing/taking turns.
- When possible, create family activities that involve taking turns!

Learn To Swim Lessons with Pendleton Swim Club
Give your children a safe advantage in and around the water by enrolling in our Learn to Swim lessons! Our second session of the season will begin on January 12th, and lessons will be held on Saturdays.
