Communication across internet

GCSE COMPUTING - IP ADDRESSING AND DSL SERVERS

IP address

IP(internet protocol) addresses help computers find each other; humans use them in different ways from computers for example a computer will use and read the code 213.453.5.67 where as we will be using them as www.google.com because these codes are harder for us to read but computers read it easier.

The way IP adresses work is in the following way:

The first thing we will do is type in the website address for example www.google.com then the computer takes the code and the name of the website you typed in after which it goes to the Database in order to find the specific website you typed it in
