A Message from Mrs. Lindsay
I hope you had a fabulous week!
Information was emailed to our families containing directions for pick-up of student belongings beginning Tuesday, June 2nd. You will be able to collect any lost and found articles, medications, and classroom supplies that have been bagged up and organized by grade and class. Please be sure to review the procedures outlined in the email you received. Remember to bring back any school library books, safety patrol belts, or classroom materials. There will be boxes labeled for each of these items when you enter the school.
To our 5th grade parents, the virtual 5th grade celebration is at 2:30 PM on Wednesday, June 10th. Our fifth grade students should have also received their 5th Grade Celebration signs this week! We are so proud of our 5th graders and will miss them as they move on to middle school next year!
We had a great turnout at the Maria Dismondy author webinar this morning with over 150 participants. Her growth mindset message aligned so well with our belief that all of us are learners and leaders! Thank you to the PTA for providing this virtual opportunity for our community. If you missed it, the event was recorded and will be available to view until the end of day on June 5th. Click here to access the recording. If you ordered a book, they have been put with your child's belongings ready to be picked up!
Have a restful weekend!
Take care and be well,
Kelly Lindsay, Principal

Kindergarten Enrollment
Just a reminder...Winchester Playground is Closed
We completely understand that the Stay at Home order issued by our Governor during this challenging time is extremely difficult for you and our students, and that part of our being as humans is socializing with each other. As part of the order, Governor Whitmer has encouraged families and individuals to get outside, take walks, etc., but the order does not allow for large gatherings, or gatherings at parks and playgrounds, which includes on our school playgrounds.
In accordance with the Governor’s Stay Safe. Stay Home. Executive Order, and by Order of the Oakland County Health Division, Northville Public Schools has closed all of our school playgrounds and fields, including ALL play structures. Student safety and well being is at the forefront of all we do for our students both at Silver Springs and across Northville Public Schools. We are asking you to do everything you can to slow the spread. We appreciate your help in keeping each other safe and healthy.

COVID-19 Grading Procedures and Parent Supports NPS Families,
As we continue to move forward with new learning under the Continuity of Learning Plan, the following information will bring clarity around the question of grading during this time as well as the available technology and parent supports we have and will continue to put in place.
The NPS COVID-19 Grading Procedures, as published on April 15, 2020, are based on guidance provided in the Executive Order. We believe these grading practices provide students with the most flexibility while still ensuring that no child will be academically harmed as a result of the traditional model school closing required by law. Please contact your teacher or building principal if you have any questions about this grading procedure or need further information.
With the help of many NPS teachers, we have developed a parent learning portal that provides you with a variety of useful resources designed to support and assist you during this remote learning period. If you have any questions, or would like to submit a request for resource support, please navigate to the submit a question under the FAQ button found on the parent learning portal. We hope you find this helpful as you partner with us in this new learning process.

Grab-and-Go Breakfast and Lunch offered by Northville Public Schools
Northville Public Schools has been offering, and will continue to offer through the MDE waiver period, Food Service meals (breakfast and lunch) to all enrolled and non-enrolled students in the district. These meals, served under the Unanticipated School Closure – School Food Service Program (SFSP) program, are made available at no cost to anyone (18) and under, or up to age (26) if they receive special education services.
The meals are ‘grab-and-go’ breakfast and lunch, and are distributed from the lobby of Northville High School each Tuesday and Friday, from 9:00 a.m. until noon. At each visit on Tuesday, each student (or their parents/guardians) will receive meals for 3 days; while on Fridays, students may take both breakfast and lunch for 4 days, totalling meals provided 7 days per week. Breakfast meal components may include string cheese, fruit, grains such as a cereal bar, and drink. Lunch meal components may include deli meat sandwiches, vegetarian options such as cheese or peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, fruits, vegetables, and milk.
