Peterson's News

9/20-9/24

Good Evening,

This week we finished our benchmark assessments for all students. These assessments for reading and math along with classroom assessments help our teachers to better understand the students' strengths and areas of need. Knowing this information allows our teachers to differentiate and group students so that the students can continue to learn and grow.

Our Orange Ruler Fundraiser kicks off tomorrow! You will receive more information about the fundraiser tomorrow through an email and a flyer. Please look for information from your child's teacher about incentives for the grade level this coming week as well!

Best,
Alli Landstrom

Coat Drive

The Indian Prairie Parents’ Council is asking you to Share the Warmth with your friends and neighbors by donating new or gently used, clean coats of all sizes (infant through adult plus size), in addition to other winter accessories (boots, hats, coats, scarves, snow pants, etc.). We will have a box labeled "Coat Drive" in our lobby for the winter items. The items will be collected from September 20 – 30 and distributed to families in need within our district in early October. Please make sure zippers are in good working condition. If you have any questions, please contact your local unit or ippcpta@gmail.com

The boundary committee will meet on Wednesday, September 22 at 6:30 pm at Still Middle School, located at 787 Meadowridge Drive, Aurora. The committee will continue evaluating various boundary adjustment scenarios. A series of community forums will be held in November to obtain feedback on boundary proposals that are yet to be created. The boundary committee meetings are open to the public for observation. Listen and Learn with Dr. Talley

Dr. Talley will hold three Listen & Learn sessions with the community starting Monday, October 4 at Fischer Middle School from 7 – 9 pm. In the sessions, Dr. Talley will share information about the district as well as his goals. Community members will have an opportunity to share their feedback on what works in the district, what is not working, and what specific suggestions they have for what is not working. Information gathered during these sessions will help the superintendent in planning for the future and may be used as part of the strategic planning process that will start later in the school year. RSVP here for the October 4 Listen & Learn Session.

Additional Listen & Learn sessions will be held on Thursday, November 6 at Granger Middle School and Tuesday, December 14 at Crone Middle School.
