Million Words Challenge FINAL Goals
Make sure your child is reading 30 minutes every night and logging their minutes to turn in on Mondays!
5,100 minutes DUE May 26
This is our LAST checkpoint. Your child must have their minutes logged to be able to attend the CELEBRATION.
Week 31 Learning Targets
Language Arts- This week in LA we are starting our Night at the Museum project. We will be spending the next few weeks’ research different events that took place over the 20th Century. We will be working in groups to make a museum display for the events. In the end each group will present their project to the classes.
Math- We will continue investigating multiplication of mixed numbers. Students will use the area model, number sentence or illustration to express their thinking. As the week progresses, we will review for our End of Year Assessment which is scheduled for Thursday, May 7. Friday will begin our Frog Jumping problem solving series. We are still in full swing- learning new standards and sharpening our skills. Please make every effort to help your child be 'fully present' to the very last day! Amazing things are happening!
Science- This week our Hawks will continue their investigations. They chose a topic they were interested in learning more about. They are using the scientific method and recording their findings.
Dismissal
NEW! We will no longer call students out of class after 2:30pm for early dismissal. We need to make sure each child is getting home safely and after 2:30pm teachers are working to ensure this happens. Thank you for your cooperation in helping all Hawks get home safely.
ATTENTION CAR RIDERS: You must have the GREEN pick up card on your dashboard when picking up your child. If you choose to park and walk up, you must have your pick up card with you. The safety of your children is our top priority. Thank you for your cooperation.
