Principal's Message

Sabre Families,

We hope everyone had a nice weekend where we really did see all four seasons of weather in the last 72 hours!

This week brings us to the start of our last quarter on Wednesday. Thank you to families for completing the request for in person or online learning for Quarter 4. Here at SAL, we have more students returning to in person learning for the final quarter of the year. In looking at our numbers, we will close this school year with having over 92 percent of our students that have done in person learning throughout the four quarters. This is an interesting piece of data as it doesn’t fit with other schools in the division or the province which have much more of a percentage of kids on line.

In preparation of students resuming classes Wednesday, we are adjusting timetable requests accordingly. If you have any questions about Quarter 4, please reach out to your grade level administrator and guidance team for support.

Take care and stay well.

Sunny Sandhu

Graduation 2021 Information

We are creating a Wordle message to your children for Grad 2021. A Wordle is a visual representation of words used to artistically create a message with one word text. Tags are usually single words, and the importance of each tag is shown with font size or color. Please fill out this Google Form with one word that you would use to describe your graduate. We will collect these words and create the Wordle to be displayed during Grad 2021 ceremony.

EIPS Parent Survey

Have your say! The 2021 EIPS Parent Survey is Now Open

Elk Island Public Schools (EIPS) wants to hear from you. Make sure to complete the 2021 EIPS Parent Survey—open from April 6-20.

Annually, EIPS conducts a parent survey to gauge its progress toward meeting the goals and priorities outlined in its Four-Year Education Plan. Families are asked a series of questions about their experiences with EIPS and the school their child attends, the overall performance of the Division, the quality of education being provided to students and areas for improvement. The survey feedback helps the Division develop new strategies to better serve students and the wider community.

Plus, new this year, the survey includes a Part B, featuring questions about the Division’s priorities, goals and outcomes. As you know, in fall 2021, EIPS welcomes a new locally elected Board of Trustees. Your feedback will help the incoming Board develop a new EIPS Four-Year Education Plan—one that’s responsive to student and community needs and focused on continuous improvement.

Survey closes April 20, 2021.

NOTE: The survey is anonymous and doesn't take long to complete. If you want to share the experience of more than one child attending an EIPS school, simply complete the survey again.
