GoCPS Application

Please watch the HS Presentation and read the Myth Busters before completing your application. The presentation is on Ms. Choe's website at https://counselingwithannechoe.weebly.com/high-schools.html and more details at go.cps.edu. The 8th Grade high school application is open until December 11. If you already submitted it and want to go back and make changes, you can until December 11. You sign into your account, click on "Create/Modify Application," do it over, and then submit. This will then replace the previous application. The final application submitted by December 11 will be the one that is used.

SIS ID Error Message
Generally, when a family receives an error message about the SIS ID, this means that the family is incorrectly answering a question when activating the account. You will need to return to the Sign Up page and start the process again. When asked if the student is new to CPS, you should click NO. When asked if the student is applying to 9th grade, you should click YES. This should get you to the page that asks for the student's Activation Code. Once entered, the student's information will be automatically entered, including the CPS ID number. If a student does not have an Activation Code, it's usually because they've already been added to an existing account opened in a previous year. They simply need to go to go.cps.edu, click 'Log In,' and enter the username and password that they created for the account.

MISSING GRADES
If you did not attend a Chicago public school last year and are missing grades in your GoCPS account, please email a copy of your 7th grade report card to Ms. Choe at apark1@cps.edu.

For more information, please contact your school principal. Note that if students don't have scores from the NWEA MAP exams administered by CPS in spring, fall or winter 2019 or October 2020, they will need to submit a paper application by the application deadline on December 11th. Paper applications are accessible at go.cps.edu - click 'High School' or 'Elementary School' (if applicable), and 'Apply.'

Selective Enrollment High School Exam Dates
If you are getting a message that it is closed and you are unable to select an exam date, it is because they may be currently filled. GoCPS will add more test sessions, please continue to check your GoCPS account. In order to select your selective enrollment exam date you need to complete your GoCPS application first. Students who test in November will receive their scores by mid-February. Students who test on all other dates will receive their scores in spring 2021, when the application results are released. If you miss or need to reschedule your test date you can go back into your GoCPS account and all the way at the bottom you click on "Modify RSVP" and select a new date/time.

Update on Peirce Solidarity Fund

Thank you to everyone for their support of the mutual aid fund that we started over the summer. To date, more than $18,000 in aid has been distributed. Over 35 families have benefited.

Families who have donated have received assistance, and families who have received assistance have vowed to donate as soon as they are in a position to do so. This shows a commitment to solidarity and mutual aid -- not just charity.

We are continuing to accept contributions as well as requests for assistance. You can find us on Venmo @PeirceSolidarityFund and on PayPal, at PeirceSolidarityFund@gmail.com. If you are in need, please email us at PeirceSolidarityFund@gmail.com (Spanish or English).
