Thank You!
It's hard to believe that we have only four more weeks left until the end of the school year. This has been an amazing year filled with so many wonderful accomplishments. We appreciate your partnership and know that many of the things we do wouldn't be possible without you!
There are a lot of end of year events going on this month and we want you to be a part of them. Please take a moment to review our calender of events (below) so that you may celebrate with us!
Again, thanks so much for an incredible year! We appreciate your partnership.
Sincerely,

On Test Day---
Make sure your child gets a good night's sleep and eats a healthy breakfast
Many teachers report that students who don't do well on tests haven't gotten enough sleep, and haven't eaten breakfast on the morning of the test. Doing both of these things will ensure that your child is working at full capacity (Narang, 2008).
Remain positive
Staying calm will help your child stay calm. If she gets nervous about the test or is likely to experience anxiety during the test, help her practice some relaxation techniques that she can try once she's taking the test (Narang, 2008).

QVE presents Global Leadership Day
Dear QVE Families,
On Tuesday, May 17th at 4:30 pm you are cordially invited to experience the power of student leadership and observe students being partners in their own learning! You will hear student testimonials about how being a leader has impacted their lives at home and in school and observe amazing student performances that will leave you inspired!
We look forward to sharing this experience with you as we teach our students and staff the importance of Leading and Learning Every Day!

Leader in Me Update
Next year our school will officially become a Leader in Me School! We are currently raising money and taking donations to reach this goal. Leadership has been a strong focus in our learning community for the past two years and we have seen dynamic changes in student behavior as well as our school culture.
In order to prepare our students for jobs in the 21st century we must provide them with opportunities to communicate, problem-solve, and innovate. Our students must view themselves as active participants in the learning process.
We live in a society of blaming and complaining and lack individuals who take responsibility for themselves and their results. We are teaching our students and staff the power of being proactive- understanding that YOU are in charge of your life and your results. As early as kindergarten, our students are learning that they have the power of choice.
I am including a video below which will provide you with more information about Leader in Me. We will host parent meeting in the near future as we would like for you to be an active part of this process.
If you have questions, please don't hesitate to contact me.
Sincerely,
Principal Spears
