If you have been in our building this week, you may have notice that the hallway from the office to the library has taken on a new look, The Black Lagoon. On Wednesday author Mike Thaler will be in our building to present lessons on being a published author as well as artist. Ask your kids about his books, they should be able to describe how "scary things" become a lot less scary once you get to know them. (I think he even wrote a book titled, "Principal from the Black Lagoon."
Speaking of scary things that are just not understood, the sixth graders well be out of the building next Monday -Wednesday. They will be experiencing a sort of "Outdoor Education," down in Kasitsna Bay. Thanks to Rocky and Destiny of Rocky's Cafe, they will all have warm, hooded sweatshirts to wear while they are exploring. Thank you Rocky's!
We also have a lot of students learning about one of our economic as well as biological phenomena, the salmon. On Tuesday, May 7, many of our students will be at Johnson Lake with the ADF&G enjoying the day and learning about what makes salmon special.
Have a great week!
