Welcome Back Panther Nation!
Volume II
Excellence In Action!

Corona High School Students and Families,
Good Friday afternoon Panther Nation! What an amazing opening to our school year! Students are in class and learning! Teachers are in class and teaching! Counselors are in offices and out on campus and counseling. Security, clerical, custodians, paraeducators and cafeteria staff are supporting all of our stakeholders! We are focused on school safety, attendance and on time arrival at Corona HS! As such we will begin a student scan in system using student IDs that are clearly displayed in the school provided lanyard! On Monday, August 29 all students will need to show their ID at one of two student entrances and get scanned in. The only entrances that students can use is the staff/student parking lot entrance by the Band Room and the clock tower entrance by the Performing Arts Center. Those entrances will not be open until 8:00 a.m. everyday. Therefore if you drop your student off before 8:00 a.m. they will have to wait by the entrance until it is opened. Zero period students will be scanned in at the main office entrance. We have had a soft roll out of our lanyards and IDs for the first two weeks of school. On August 29 it becomes mandatory to wear them everyday and all day. If you have lost your ID or lanyard or still have not received your ID or lanyard go to the student store and you can get both there. Parents please support the wearing of the lanyard with the ID visible. This is a critical safety measure. Thank you and have an amazing weekend!

The picture above is one of the first locations for Corona High. Now this site is the Historic Civic Center which was built in 1923. The last Senior class to graduate from this location was the class of 1960. | Corona Senior High School at 1150 W 10th Street in 1961. Check out the payphone out front!! An original historic bronze marker for Corona High School sits in the display cabinet in the Administration Building. A duplicate granite marker was gifted to the school funded by the Corona High Alumni with a generous donation being made by the 2014 "all class" summer reunion during the 10th street Corona High facelift. The granite marker hangs on the outside of the building which is now the temporary Student Store and was officially dedicated to the school on January 16, 2015. | Finally, this picture shows Corona High School as we know it now. Corona High School has such a rich history and we are excited to share it with all of our Panthers "new" and "old".....until next week....RAWR!!! |
