Dear Stafford Elementary Community,
Happy Thanksgiving Stafford Elementary Community! Thanksgiving is a time for us to reflect on all of our blessings. We thank you all for allowing us the opportunity to work with your children and have you as part of our Dolphin Family.
Before we head into the break, here are a few things to keep in mind.
Impact Aid Forms
You received an email from SCPS around October 11 which had an Impact Aid form attached. Impact Aid is a federal program that provides school divisions with additional funding for students connected with military and federally employed households based on the number of students enrolled in that school division. At this time, Stafford Elementary School has not received the completed form from over half the school. We ask that you please use this link and complete a form for each of your students because every student counts. Your responses equate to millions of dollars in federal funding available to the school system. You will need your student's ID number to complete the form. Here is a quick video to show you how to locate your student's ID number, or you can always call the front office for assistance at 540.658.6340.
Operation Warm Coat
Mrs. Williams and Ms. Kodua worked all last week to deliver winter coats to all families who indicated they were in need. We do have a few coats remaining, so if you are still in need, please reach out to Mrs. Williams at williamsce@staffordschools.net or Ms. Kodua at koduag@staffordschools.net. If they have your child's size, they will certainly help you out.
Food Drive
We want to thank you everyone who donated food to the PTA sponsored Food Drive. We were able to create 17 boxes of food to give to families this Thanksgiving. It is because of your donations and the PTA that we were able to do this for our school community! Thank you so much!
Picture Make Up or Retake Day
On November 30, we will be having our Fall Picture Make Up or Retake Day. If your child was not enrolled at Stafford Elementary School or was absent on September 29 (our original Picture Day), we want to make sure that your child gets their picture taken. These pictures will be used for our yearbook. If your child had their picture taken on Sept. 29 and it did not turn out as well as you would have liked, please let your student's teacher know and we will get them a picture retake.
Thanksgiving Break
We have only two days of school this week as Thanksgiving Break starts at the end of the day on Tuesday, November 22. In this time of Thanksgiving, we want to express our appreciation for you. Have a wonderful long weekend filled with good food, friends, and family.
Happy Thanksgiving!

Car Rider Arrival and Dismissal
Car Rider Drop Off will begin at 8:05 a.m. and end at 8:30 a.m.
Car rider staff open the doors at 8:05 a.m.
Children are required to be in their seats at 8:30 a.m. to start instruction.
If you arrive at 8:30 a.m. or later, you will be motioned to park your car and
to walk your students to the front office and sign them in. If there are no staff members directing traffic, this is another sign to park and bring your children into the building.
Please help us by doing the following to keep the car rider line running smoothly:
- Please follow all staff members' directions.
- Please DO NOT let the children out of the car before the staff is outside.
- Have the children ready with their backpacks on when you pull up to the sidewalk.
- Have the children get out of the car on the passenger side only.
For dismissal:
- Please help your child learn their car rider number.
- Remind children to pay attention when they are in the cafeteria listening for their numbers and names.
If you need to change your child's dismissal routine for any reason please send an email to your child's teacher and sesfrontoffice@staffordschools.net. Please do this BEFORE 2:30 p.m.
