Work Hard - Play Hard - Love Learning
A Note from the Principal
Change is in the air! We are so excited that we will soon be able to bring our Elementary students back to in person learning for those who selected that choice in the Return to School Survey that went out the last few weeks. We are busy planning to ensure a successful and safe return for our students and staff.
We will have a staggered start spread across two weeks for our students so that we can bring them back safely and ensure that we can train everyone on our new safety procedures.
- TK-2nd grade students return the week of April 12th.
- 3rd-5th grade students return the week of April 19th.
Students who have opted to return to in person learning will be assigned to two days of in person learning 8:40-12:15. Some of our students will be in person on Monday and Tuesday mornings , while others will be assigned to in person learning Thursdays and Friday mornings. Students who were not in person that day or opted to continue distance learning will be completing asynchronous/independent work on those mornings and will be taught virtually by the teacher in the afternoon. We will be sharing the official schedules with everyone once they are finalized by the district.
As students are coming back to school we will be following strict safety procedures and protocols. The district is working on a family guide that will provide a lot of details and hopefully answer all of your questions. A few things to be aware of now are:
- All staff and students are required to wear a mask at all times on campus and maintain a 6 foot social distance. This is also required at drop off and dismissal.
- Gates will be opened for students to enter 10 minutes prior to beginning of the school day and students will report directly to their classroom and wait in line until their teacher opens the door. Students are not allowed to be dropped off early.
- Parents will be required to stay in their cars for drop off and pick up and to help keep traffic moving (no waiting), those who are walking their students to school will drop them off at the beginning of the school sidewalks where they can follow the bobcat prints to enter the school campus. Everyone is expected to follow 6 foot social distancing and no gathering during drop off/dismissal.
- Students will remain with their class cohort throughout the day so that classes will not be intermixed. This includes during their break when students will be assigned to a designated area to play/relax.
- The office will only allow 1 family in the lobby at a time for everyone's health and safety. We encourage everyone to call in advance for an appointment so that we do not have anyone gathering outside the office area.
Though we know that there are lots of changes. Know that they are changes to ensure the health and safety of all our Bobcat families and we appreciate your support as we help everyone adjust to the new expectations. We will work together as a school community to make sure that we can have a positive and safe reopening of our school.
We will continue to share information as it is finalized and to answer your questions in the weeks ahead. Thank you for all that you have done this year for your children, our teachers and our entire school community. We look forward to the changes that are coming and getting to see some of our Bobcats in person again.

I remind our students of the importance of being well both physically and social emotionally, but this balance is also a must for parents and guardians as well. Enjoy the wide variety of calming down strategies for coping during challenging times provided by Riverside County of Education. https://sites.google.com/rcoe.us/rcoevirtualwellnesscenter/home
