Behavioral Strategies:
Week 2 Back from Winter Break:
Radio calls were at an all time LOW our first week back from Winter Break. Thank you to the many staff members who have proactively, engaged in behavioral strategies to promote healthy social skills. Continue to use those basic strategies to make students success.
- Have your ROAR tickets ready for students first thing Monday Morning, distribute them like skittles along with positive reinforcement for behavior. (Students are crazy excited!) Fill out your Ticket trackers outside your class as often as possible! Keep kids encouraged.
- Hallways must remain at level 0 as we continue testing. Please be cautious of this and help model this for our students.
- Students should not be in the hallways at any time without an escort.
- Engage in proactive and engaging community circle activities.
- Review your classroom and school-wide rules and procedures
- Use your Tier 1 Behavioral Strategies (Verbal warning, redirection, safe seat, buddy room).
- Follow the discipline flow-chart, before using your walkie-talkie.
- Ensure students understand the expectations for a buddy room, this is not just a meaningless break time.
- When students return from the Buddy Room, welcome those students back with open arms and restorative conversations-- this is a crucial component of restorative justice.
- Use your ROAR tickets, students enjoy the school-wide incentive. This month we will be working on getting a total of 250+ tickets for each classroom in order to tape Mrs. Enders and Mr. Cherry to the gym wall! ROAR ticket winners of the week also get to get an extra trip to the School Store.
