Wildcat Weekly
2022-2023 Vol. #4 August 13, 2022
WELCOME TO THE 2022-2023 SCHOOL YEAR WILDCATS!
We're excited to welcome all of our students back on Tuesday morning! Please read this week's edition carefully and pay special attention to our expectations and procedures for a successful first week!
#GOCATSGO!
First Day Reminders:
We have new hours this year! The first tardy bell is at 7:20 am and school will dismiss at 2:35 pm. For the first day only, Seniors with late arrival will need to arrive by 8:30 am and report to the library to pick up their schedules.
Take a look at the 1st DAY ONLY bell schedule below. We will resume our normal, but new, bell schedule on Wednesday, August 17th (posted towards the bottom of this week's newsletter).
Schedules will be released in Home Access Center at noon on Monday, August 15th. On Tuesday, all students will report to first period to pick up their official schedules and ID Badges. Please make note of your first period class and location when viewing your schedule in HAC (take a screenshot!). TMHS personnel will be available to help those who need assistance locating their 1st period class.
Schedule changes will not take place on Monday or Tuesday of the first week of school. The deadline to make elective schedule changes was in February. Level changes will take place at the end of the third week of school.
Attention TMHS Juniors!
As a Junior, your student may have the opportunity to enroll in Pass/Fail elective courses based on the courses they have selected. TMHS has created a presentation to further explain the requirements and application process. The presentation and application can be found on the link below. This process must be completed before 11:59 p.m. on Monday August 15th.
TMHS Pass / Fail Elective Course Communication
For questions or further information, please contact your student’s counselor.
Student Parking
Only students who have purchased a reserved, painted parking space are allowed to park in spaces that are numbered.
Student ID Badges
All TMHS Students will be required to wear their ID badge each day!
Student ID Badges
Students are required to wear their campus-issued ID badges to school every day. ID badges will help the campus determine which individuals are authorized to be on campus and will assist in accounting for students in an emergency situation. For students, their ID badge has additional functionality for transportation, child nutrition, and library services. The ID badge will be provided to students as soon as possible, in some instances before school during orientation activities or on the first day of school. Students will also receive a lanyard and protective sleeve. Students must have their ID visible on them at all times during the school day. In the name of collectively ensuring a safe environment in our schools, the District appreciates the support of our parents in ensuring their students wear their badges to school every day.
Please see the Student Health and Safety Handbook for additional information on measures to keep your students safe and healthy!
Student Dress Code Reminders
We will continue to enforce our dress code policies per the TISD Student handbook with an emphasis continuing on the following items:
- All students must wear clothing that adequately covers the body. Shorts and/or skirts must reach the mid-thigh. Spaghetti straps, strapless, backless, see-through and low-cut tops are not allowed. Tops must cover the midriff.
- All male students must be clean-shaven and may not display any piercings including the ear. Hair cannot extend past the bottom of a dress collar or tshirt neckline.
- Students are not allowed to wear hats, bandanas, or other head coverings.
- Female students are permitted to wear ear piercings only. No other body piercings are allowed to be visible.
- Student hair must be that of natural color.
