CCMS Coyote, Ben Garrido-Parrish, Earns Congressional Award Bronze Medal!
The Congressional Award is the United States Congress’ award for young Americans. The foundation remains Congress’ only charity. The program is non-partisan, voluntary, and non-competitive. Young people may register when they turn 13 1/2 years old and must complete their activities by their 24th birthday.
Participants earn Bronze, Silver, and Gold Congressional Award Certificates and Bronze, Silver, and Gold Congressional Award Medals. Each level involves setting goals in four program areas: Voluntary Public Service, Personal Development, Physical Fitness, and Expedition/Exploration. Earning The Congressional Award is a fun and interesting way to get more involved in something you already enjoy or something you’d like to try for the first time. You move at your own pace – on your own or with your friends. This is not an award for past accomplishments. Instead, you are honored for achieving your own challenging goals after registering for the program.
Ben started working to fulfill the requirements last year, hoping to be able to complete it all prior to his 8th grade promotion. On behalf of Cypress Creek Middle School, congratulations for achieving this amazing, and prestigious, award and demonstrating our H.O.W.L. mission!

All MySchool Online families received an email regarding district finals for MySchool online students earlier this week. MySchool Online students DO NOT need to come to the campus to take their District Final as they can be taken through their MyPascoConnect Platform. Testing proctors will be sending out Zoom links to students prior to the start of district finals on either Monday or Tuesday. Please do not share these Zoom links on social media to avoid a Zoom hack during testing. If you have any District Final questions, please contact Julieann Usry jusry@pasco.k12.fl.us.

On Friday, May 21st from 8:30am-10:00am all 8th grade students are invited to a special congratulatory breakfast. WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU: If you are interested in adding a little bit of your thoughts to the Time Capsule, simply record a 30-45 second video answering one of the questions below and email it to ccmsclassof2021timecapsule@gmail.com
Written responses will also be accepted.
Only answers from the questions below will be added into the capsule.
QUESTIONS TO BE CONSIDERED:
1. What is something positive that you can say you have experienced from going through Covid-19 quarantine?
2. What is the first thing you are planning on doing when we no longer have to quarantine?
3. Out of everything that we have missed out on in the last year, what is it that you miss the most?
Our team will have an introduction before the compilation of your submissions, so don’t worry about trying to explain anything further than just answering the questions. Don’t be shy and be yourself! We very much look forward to all the great responses!

FSA, EOC, and FCAT Testing Updates:
mySchool Online Device Return
7th Grade Required Immunization
The Florida Department of Health requires all incoming 7th graders to have the Tdap immunization. Documentation of the Tdap vaccine is required BEFORE your child starts 7th grade. Please make sure this is provided to CCMS on or before registration day in August.
ESE Parent Surveys
Please remember to complete the ESE Parent Survey. This survey is extremely important to our school district as we plan for your child’s future educational needs. The letter was mailed out on 3/11/2021. If you do not receive a copy of the survey, you can complete the survey online at www.esesurvey.com or request a paper copy from the school. This does not include Gifted Services. Pasco County Schools values your opinion and encourages you to complete this survey. The window for this opportunity is open until May 31, 2021. If you have questions, please contact the front office at CCMS, 813-346-4600 or email ESE team lead at kpepoon@pasco.k12.fl.us.
