7th Grade Health Class

Welcome!!
Hello Gryphon Families!! We are beginning our second round in Health class. The Physical Education students have made their way to Health classroom for the second quarter. We will be covering two units the quarter. The units will consist of Mental-Emotional and Alcohol tobacco and other drugs. We will begin the quarter by review the Health Triangle and then diving into Mental-Emotional Health.
CANVAS
We will be using CANVAS in our health class. CANVAS is a online class that allows the students to learn and collaborate online. Students can access CANVAS where ever there they have access to the internet. It is a great tool for growing the students into 21st century learners.

Comic Strip
The students are currently working on their Mental/Emotional Unit project which is creating a Comic Strip. They will be creating a scenario in which a character becomes stressed. The character must use the correct stress management strategies and use a reasonable resources to help alleviate the stress. They will use what they have learned from the unit to complete the assignment which is due Friday, December 9th.
KEEPING IT REAL!!!!!! AKA D.A.R.E.
Officer Callicutt from Concord Police Department is currently leading the students through a D.A.R.E. program. The students participate in this program once a week with Officer Callicutt. They will be learning about how to effectively say no to making bad decisions that can adversely affect their health.
